General Update
Hey there been a minute since I posted a new Update so here it is and I hope the wait was worth it. I added A new Stage The Police Station Where you are Taken after you Killed your baby sitter. Now your stuck there until your parents pick you up so Impy decided to go snooping around. But the Police officer is guarding the entrance so you have to cause a distraction.
So couple new features I have Added
-New Stage
-New way to Kill Karen(Electuction)
-New Ability Cry - for when you want karen to come to you(Press e)
-Objects you can interact with now glow
-Main Menu
-Settings Menu
-New Animations
-New Sound Fx
-New Models
So a couple new features I could break down but I would like to discuss is The new Animations I Will be using for once I actually purchased my most expensive plug in from the asset Store ,and It is a Kinect Motion Capture Plug in I have had my eye on this one for awhile now it was one of the cheaper ways to get into the diy motion capture. It ran me 60 bones but I was more then excited to give it up for the potential to have good animations in my game.
So little back ground I Have some college in Animation But that was with Maya Auto desk but a lot the 3d modeling principals transfer over to other 3d modeling software like blender. I just never got animations down Its like my Achilles' heel I cant ever seem to grasp some of the simple topics but I can do some modeling (wink at the New baby model and fellow prisoners) . So I purchased me a Kinect from The Game Store Before this pandemic for like 40 and Installed the Windows Kinect SDK .
Now that Everything was ready for the home budget of around 100 I was more then excited. So I Don't have any gifs to show the animations that you have to go download killer baby and check out your self :P But I will Say the process was smooth Took a bit of reading but the documentation was well written and even had you-tube videos up.
Now that I was ready I just started shooting a lot of various animations and best of all I learned about humanoid animation in Unity , and how you can swap any humanoid animation with any mesh. So All my new models can all do animations without having to re record etc. Beyond hyped to say the least but while reading about animations in particular I learned my potential investment may have been for nothing.
I learned of Mixamo
Now I may be late to this train but when I discovered it I was blown away all this and its free? And the other thing about the plug in it wasn't so perfect. I mean It clearly states that their may be some jank in the animations but mixamo was perfect and they had a majority of animations I was looking for. So Pluged in a new character, And now he has some decent animations so I may use this for a majority of the follow game .
Either way I learned a lot about animations within a few weeks and now I am super excited about my 3d games. Speaking of my games I recent entered the Scream Machine Game Jam And my entry Paranormal Cases: La Llorona was alot of fun to work on would love for you to check out I will post a link below. You can also expect another game jam game soon because I plan on doing one a month along with my regular content update for killer baby.
